How to avoid getting outbid on ebay?
I am watching a sidekick phone on ebay and I got a lot of competition. I wanted it so bad that I put a bid like too early...........I know, its stupid. I should have placed the bid till the last 10 seconds :( Anyways, I am still the highest bidder and the auction will end in 3 days ;) My question is how to avoid snipers to outbid the phone in the final moment?? I am pretty sure I am gonna be outbid :( Any strategy ??

- place a super high bid like if the current one is $13.50 do $20.01
- so you want to outbid snipers by being one? sorry, that's the only way
- just pay attention to the bid like all the time and keep refreshing...thats the reason i hate biding on things.right at the last minute if someone bids higher than you just bid like a dollar more thats really all i can think off.
- Do whatever you want. Your problems do not concern me. Goodnight stranger.
- Bid the maximum amount you are willing to pay! You will only pay as much as the next highest bid!
- u should snipe
- There is no way to prevent snipers from doing their thing. It's probably the easiest way to make sure you get the item you're bidding on (if you have the time to sit around towards the end of the auction). I might suggest setting up the auto-bid feature a half hour to an hour before bidding expires. Make sure you are familiar with the function before using it so the auction doesn't end up expiring while you're trying to get things situated.
- A good strategy to win is to remind yourself to watch the bidding in the last 5 minutes. Make sure you keep refreshing the page to see if you've been outbid yet. Once you've been outbid place the big a tad higher when the item has about 10 seconds left (example: the bid is at $24.30, you bid $25.02). But be quick enough to get your last bid in! This way, if someone else is bidding right after you place your new bid, they'll most likely bid at the next bid required by ebay, which would have been $24.80 (for amounts under $25, amounts over $25 have $1.00 bid increase), OR they might go ahead and just bid $25.00 instead of $24.80, so since you bid $0.02 more, you win! :) Remember the bid increments: # If the current high bid on the auction is from $0.01 to $0.99, then the next bid must be at least $0.05 higher. # If the current high bid is $1.00 to $4.99, then the next bid must be at least $0.25 higher. # If $5.00 to $24.99, at least $0.50 higher. # If $25.00 to $99.99, at least $1.00 higher. # If $100.00 to $249.99, at least $2.50 higher.
- Put the highest price you are willing to go for about an hour before the bid ends, then keep an eye on it until it ends. You just have to watch closely, and hope no one outbids your highest.
- ... you... want to join the e-SNIPERS? okay. wait til it's the last 1-2 minutes of the auction so you don't have to wait that long. open the auction's page. open it in another tab now you have 2 separate tabs for the same auction. in the first tab, put down as much as you're willing to pay and hit "Bid Now" in the second tab, carefully watch the timer. as soon as the timer hits 6 seconds, quickly go to tab #1 and hit "CONFIRM BID" by the time you do this, it will be down to 3 seconds. BOOM HEADSHOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. WINNER.
- if you bid on ebay or any auction that is like that you are competing with who has the deepest pockets. i would suggest unique auctions becuase they usually have so many bids to close and max bid price, etc that ebay and others like that don't have. my suggestion with unique auctions is see if they are listed with the www.bbb.org, verified address, and phone number.
