Where is a good place to buy vintage cameras, other than ebay?
So I have just gotten fed up with ebay snipers outbidding me at the last second. I refuse to use the sniping program because it is unfair. I love old cameras and love collecting them, not so much for the dollar value but because I enjoy looking at them and using them. I live on an island where there really aren't any antique stores or thrift stores. I often browse Shopgoodwill.com and Keh.com. Where else online can I find a place that sells or auctions vintage cameras?

- Some of the Photo mags have listings for collectors and sellers of vintage cameras. I know Shutterbug mag does. Also some of the big New York camera houses like Adorama, and B&H have classic camera departments. Their websites have listings too. Also, I,ve found some nice stuff at flea markets, and swap meets, Look for listings for estate sales. A lot of times you can find a treasure there.
- go to yahoo search type buy vintage camera
- Try looking at a local camera repair store. They usually have a lot good cameras, including vintage ones. You may have to travel to a larger city to find what you are looking for.
- One of my favorite shopping choices is using my local Craigslist. There, you can contact the LOCAL seller directly, and actually meet them face-to-face. That gives you a chance to test out the equipment. I've personally bought several lenses that way. You would also post a 'wanted' ad there and wait for responses. Hope this helps.
