  1. my friend has a laptop with non genuine windows xp and it works fine for downloads and email, keep trying to find a way around it. i dont know how but you'll get there for free!
  2. you must crack it try limewire remember this is illegal so just use it to get youre system going
  3. Go to Ebay and get a copy of xp from there Have a look at this it might solve your problem http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WINDOWS-XP-UPDATE-FIX-HOME-or-PRO-LATEST-VERSION_W0QQitemZ140054522601QQihZ004QQcategoryZ41888QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  4. I might be able to help, try to send me an email with a return address so I can sent you an add on
  5. I think that if you have previously bought a copy of windows ME or 98, then you can purchase the windows XP upgrade, which is substantially cheaper.
  6. I know a few people with non genuine versions and they have been online for years. You aren't a fool. No one expects a computer to contain a os that isn't authentic. Do you know much about changing the os? Try Linux. Look on Ebay for a version with temporary support, it will cost a little but not anywhere near what it costs for Windows. SUSE(a type of Linux) comes with 30 days support when bought in box form. That is the only real drawback with Linux is the lack of official support but there are forums you can pose questions for great answers and most everything is being written for the Linux system also these days. Give it a go if you can't get the Windows to work properly, the great thing about Linux is that once you bought the system, you can put it on whatever computers you want, unlike Microsofts os. Linux want to be spread around the world. They work towards the free and equitable access to the internet and computers for all.
  7. You can get the normal home edition for as little as £70 - I bought one as a back up through my ISP. It doesn't come with the box or instruction leaflets, its only in a sleeve, but it is a genuine copy. Mines had a copy installed too and it works fine - I think it depends on how many other machines its been installed on before you got it.
  8. Try the free Linux operating system.
  9. I can give you a link that deals with hard drive problems. Some RAM/hard drive problems can be easily fixed yourself by using easily available tools. I found the info at http://fixit.in useful. Try this site, if you can get what is required.
