Counterfeit Software!! Unable to contact Microsoft...?
My brother purchased a computer off Ebay and it turns out the XP software is fake. "This copy of Windows did not pass genuine validation. The product key found on this computer is a Volume License Key (VLK) that has been blocked." I am unable to contact Microsoft because I keep being sent to a page that states they want $59 just to have an email sent to them. The seller didn't state the true nature of the sofftware in his auction and is not returning our calls or emails. The OS is set to expire in less than 10 days and I won't be able to purchase a new copy of XP until I get paiid, which is longer than 10 days from now. What can I do to keep this computer running? Somebody please help! I have online classes to attend... Is there a specific forum I can post to or a site with a 30 day trial? Even if Microsoft can't or won't help me, they at least need to know what has happened.

- sorry you know that happen to me and i was lock out you can go after e bay but like thay say buyer be where there nothing no one can do
- Set your clock back. This is really inconvenient, all your dates will be wrong, but it will let you continue to use the computer.
- Install UBUNTU or XUBUNTU, they are free, reliable and up to date operating systems. Once you have one installed you gain access to thousands of free programs provided by the open source community.
