Never used anything like this before, really want a particular item on ebay that finishes today, and so that i wont miss the last bids I thought i'd try auctionsniper.com....Is it reliable?! What's the best Ebay "sniper" software out there? I wouldn't normally use it as I prefer the excitement of manually bidding on my acutions, and besides go through Kickitback for cash kick backs, which I highly recommend (http://www.kickitback.com/default.aspx?rid=30163), but sometimes, when the auction is coming up at three in the morning, it would be a nice tool to have. Recommended ebay freeware sniper software tool? Can anyone suggest any good freeware ebay/auction sniper software tool/s that work with Windows 7 O/S? There are many auctions that end during times that its not possible to be at a computer/pc/laptop. Yeah, a big help I've gone for a sniper called Prospector. It only took 5 minutes to download and program in my bid. To: 'Haley (I got banned, stupid!!)'... I don't think you understand what e-bay sniping is or why people use e-bay snipers. If you bid too early in the auction other bidders can use a sniper to outbid you in the last 5 seconds of an auction. It's happened to me twice already.

Do you have any cool EBay tricks to share? I'd specifically like to know if searches can be automated? I'm constantly searching for things on EBay, typing in the same search criteria over and over, on a very hit-or-miss basis. Does anyone know of any software, website, or maybe even a feature built into EBay that will run a large number of keyword-based searches for me periodically and automatically? I want to be notified (email and/or text msg) as soon as any of the many things I've been searching for appears, most especially the harder-to-find, seldom-listed ones. Also, do you know of any other neat tricks for optimizing one's EBay use? I'm exclusively a Buyer right now, but Sellers' (ethical) tricks would be appreciated as well. Right now, the best Buyer's trick I know of is the automatic sniper; I use Snipestreet to place my maximum bids just before the end of the auction. It's free, and has never failed me yet, unless of course I didn't bid high enough. Anyone have any input on Snipestreet, or any other sniping service? If so, could you please include info on fees? Thanks Kim, I had never noticed that feature before. I just tried it, and it looks as if it will be very helpful. I'm assuming it will run the search for you automatically - if so, do you have any idea how often, and can you specify that somewhere? In the meantime, I found a pretty cool site called Auctionsleuth that will run up to 200 searches for you at any frequency you want, even every minute I think, for as long as you keep the search active. They must have some pretty powerful servers. Definitely try using one of the bid snipers - it's great never having to worry about missing the closing of an auction, or staying up late just to bid on something. Plus, it's nice to not let anyone know you're interested in something ahead of time. Just put in the highest price you're willing to pay, and wait for an email telling you if you won or not. If you lose, no problem - it was more than you wanted to pay anyway, and it keeps you from bidding more than you "should" - BTDT :)

Help with wireless connection speed? On a wireless connection status they have the Packets sent and packets recieved. From looking at screenshots of a professional auction sniper on neopets I found that with their dial-up connection they had 3 times as many packets recieved than sent. With my connection I only have about 600 more packets recieved than sent. How can I increase the number of packets recieved to make my internet faster? Where is a good place to buy vintage cameras, other than ebay? So I have just gotten fed up with ebay snipers outbidding me at the last second. I refuse to use the sniping program because it is unfair. I love old cameras and love collecting them, not so much for the dollar value but because I enjoy looking at them and using them. I live on an island where there really aren't any antique stores or thrift stores. I often browse Shopgoodwill.com and Keh.com. Auction Sniping? Okay, on ebay when you have a sniper program set up, say i have it set for 5 seconds...does the sniper program know they have a maximum bid? Is 5 seconds ( for the snipe set up ) too short a time for it to consecutively bid it for me until i have outbid them. thanks alot well iguess what i mean is, because they have a max bid and the program doesnt know what it is, that means it will have to auto-bid for me until it overrides theirs, i dont know how fast these programs are...but would 5 seconds be enough time?

I have bidded on the same game 2 or 3 times to ensure I get it because I've been caught out by snipers before and now the auction only has an hour to go and no one has bidded on any of them now I'm genna have about 3 copies. Anyway should I wait for the ones I've bidded and risk them being sniped or should I wait until the near end and see If I'm outbid then try anouther auction or try to forget about it and risk all of the games. Ebay **ebay users only please**? If someone bidded a huge amount of money for something to hope that no one would bid and they woukd win it for hardly anything but then someone bidded $1 more would the person who bidded second have to pay until someone beats them. Simplified: If somone bids heaps of money and no one bids would that person get the item for it's last bid or would they have to pay the huge amount they bidded as their top bid. Also would the second person who bid have to pay the huge amount if they won the auction. Sorry if this doesn't make any sense but I keep getting beaten by snipers in the last few seconds and losing and now I need some tactics. Ps No, I didn't do this I just need tactics to beat snipers. How exactly does sniping on Ebay work? Say I decide to "snipe" something. I enter in my maximum bid and choose the 5 second cut off. Does that mean that my sniper software will automatically outbid the other person 5 seconds before the auction ends up to the amount of my maximum bid? Or will it automatically start bidding and then keep bidding (if I am out bid) until 5 seconds before the auction ends? Can someone explain exactly how this works? If an item I'm bidding on is currently 10 dollars but I put my bid in at 40 dollars, is the sniping software going to bid 40 dollars 10 seconds before the auction ends, or is it going to continue to bid UP TO 40 dollars before the auction ends?
Proxy/sniping on ebay? So i just put a bid on a halloween costume and someone put in SIX bids after me, their price rising incrementally by like 50 cents or something until they were 50 cents above me. first off, are they using the proxy feature that allows users to protect against sniping (assuming their highest amount is higher than the sniper)? also, i want to lure them into a false sense of security by not doing the proxy feature that raises the price incrementally above them. during the last few minutes of the auction, i want to use that proxy feature to beat them. does that make sense? will it work? okay here, let me explain this again, during the last few minutes, i want to put in that proxy thing and start raising the price by like 50 cents above them. starting that bidding war later would mean i might get the item at a cheaper price ,right? and i would still win because of the proxy feature automatically bidding higher than them each time right?
