auction software with site bidding fee? I need to build an auction website where the website owner can deduct cash from winning bids and divert it to himself (unseen to bidders and sellers, but is specified prior to signup) and the rest goes to the seller. The website owner can pad this additional amount as part of starting bid, but the system will recognize this addition independently. Now is there an existing auction software or plugin (for wordpress and the like) that does this? Is this even a good idea? If the padding occurs in the starting bid, and this fact is explicitly specified during signup, will this make it less shady? Moreover, does such a site plugin that does this behavior exist?
Need 2009 Fantasy Football Auction Software/Application? Can't find a software application to run a Fantasy Football auction live in real-time. The gold-standard site was the FantasyFootballAuctioneer site, but it's not running for 2009 season. Rotowire says in July, auction software available for subscribers, but it isn't ready. Any body know of a site where someone can purchase subscription or access to software program that will run a FF auction live (not a draft mind you..but actively bidding auction style)?
eBay auction tracking software? I started selling stuff on eBay and wanted to know if there are any FREE auction tracking software programs that can keep track of my items. This way I'll know of bids and auctions that are ending
Ebay auction scanner software? Hey everyone! Every now and then I'll find a really great buy on Ebay with hardly any people bidding on the item I want. These items can take a little bit of searching and while you're wasting time looking for one good deal, another may have passed because you didn't get to it in time. My question to you is: Is there any software (freeware preferably) that can scan Ebay auctions and alert the user on the cheapest price and/or shortest auction time remaining? Thanks in advance!
eBay auction software helper? am interesting if there is a software that will help me to bid on eBay better? what am i saying is: the software in witch i could set limit how mutch i would like to pay max on the item that is in auction and the software bided without me on that item
Ebay sniping software/service that stops bidding once you've won one of the items you're tracking? I'm looking to buy a higher ticket item on eBay and there are several listed. My sniping software is a simple open-source product, great for straight use but I'm looking to set up something more complex here. I need a product that allows me to flag multiple auctions, set a price, snipe away but then STOP if I actually win one of the auctions. I'm not sure what this feature would even be called, so I can't tell who would offer it. I have DSL, so I can use software, but if I have to employ a service to get the feature I need, I'll do that. I just don't want to wake up one morning, log in and discover that my sniper has just purchased me 15 of the same item and is still bidding away!!
what does sniping software do? Define sniping software? is it a software that places the bid on the last second? I am a seller. can I put bidding sniper on my auction items? for examnple i list my auction with 99 cents but want my item to sell for no less than $10 so i enter $10 into bidding snipper or whatever the software appropirate for that and when someone places the bid of $1 $2... the software will bid it and till it reaches the max $10? I have tried to bid on someone listing and it said i have been just outbidded. then i entered higher amount and it said same thing again and again and again. Is this called bidding sniper or is it something else? Thanks very much
Recommended ebay freeware sniper software tool? Can anyone suggest any good freeware ebay/auction sniper software tool/s that work with Windows 7 O/S? There are many auctions that end during times that its not possible to be at a computer/pc/laptop. Anyone having any advise on good freeware for this purpose would be much appreciated as I suffer from chronic illnesses, and being able to set up some pre-bids with a free auction sniper-ware would be a huge help to enable them to be set in during my 'brighter' times and give me more success, as I have to use the internet for all my needs including prezzies for birthdays, christmas, thankyou's, etc etc. Anyone with a helpful suggestion for a freeware sniper software would be most gratefully received, thank you 8-) Best wishes to all out there
How can I be outbid on Ebay by 1 cent? My max bid was $31.00 and the auction was at $28.50 for the last hour. Then with 1 second left I lost the auction to someone who bid $31.01. How is this possible? I understand sniping software get's a bid in at the last second, but if my bid had to be in dollar increments how can someone outbid me by a penny?
How can I build a web page that takes information from one page and updates that info translate it to another? How can I build a web page that takes information from one page and updates that info and translate it to another Language. It would be more easy to understand if you see these pages: http://blog.vertebratesilence.com/2006/10/05/bidding-in-yahoo-auctions-from-outside-of-japan/ They take the information from an auction site , translate it show it in their own 's. Please give me and specific answer e.g.. a tutorial, a determinate software, programming language , and step by step on how to fo this. THANKS ;)
What's the best Ebay "sniper" software out there? I wouldn't normally use it as I prefer the excitement of manually bidding on my acutions, and besides go through Kickitback for cash kick backs, which I highly recommend (http://www.kickitback.com/default.aspx?rid=30163), but sometimes, when the auction is coming up at three in the morning, it would be a nice tool to have. Anyone have any recommendations?
Why am I outbid as soon at I hit submit on Ebay? I heard of the sniping software, but does it raise the other persons bid as soon as you bid? I heard it was suppose to raise the bid only seconds before auction ends? So how does it work? What if two people are using it at the same time? OR, do you think the items are just rigged?
Question about Ebay bidding- I was bidding on an item with no bids and I've put a reserve much higher then the starting bid was - just in case someone will start bidding on it as well. This was 4 min before the ending of the auction. I was refreshing page every few seconds, and up to the last 16 seconds there were no bids, and I was the sole bidder with the starting price (not even my reserve!) When I refreshed the screen (with 16seconds to go) I was outbid! I don't understand how this happend - because my reserve was much, much higher then the starting bid and unless this other person was bidding as well and put his reserve higher then mine - then the automatic bidding would have picked it up first, but there were no bids till the last 16 seconds! I was really pi***d off, and I would like to know how they do it? Is there a software somewhere specially for ebay? How does it work? Because I am sure that was not coincedence/ Thanks!
what's your favorite ebay timer tool software? I'm looking for a timer that will notify me of closing auctions that i have bid on and ones that i'm watching. it doesn't need to notify me of my auctions that are closing. must also be free.
Database Model and Software? An auction website has items for sale that are provided by sellers. Each item has an opening price, a description and an ending time. Customers submit bids. The highest, earliest bid submitted before the ending time is the winning bid and the item is sold to the bidder. Each seller must pay the auction company 5% of the winning bid. The auction company wants to be able to analyze the sales behavior of its customers and sellers and so must keep track of all bids and sales. The part I don't understand is Each seller must pay the auction company 5% of the winning bid. How would you place that in the table, would you just have a table called Sales and then say SalesPayment as one of the attributes?
what is a good auction site and you dont pay for bids? i have decided i either want an ipad or ipad 2 , i really want one for school instead of use the huge computer that my family has had for 5 or 6 years that is so outdated the computer is not compatible with the latest software. i have looked around and they are going for 600 and more. i can not afford that and so i have looked for a alternative and i have found bidding sites. the problem is you have to pay like 60$ and no less and you get like 100 bids. i dont want to pay that much if i just run out of bids and dont get an ipad and it was just a waste so what is a true penny bidding site where you pay for the item only, i would also perfer one where you can bid with out using a credit card first but paying at the very end
How is it that some Buyers on Ebay can bid & win in under 3/10 of a second before close of auction? I noticed one auction I was watching on Ebay. The "Winner" submitted and won bid only 3/10 of a SECOND before the auction time lapsed. This bidder/winner only submitted their offer ONE SINGLE TIME One Single Entry! How in the world can someone bid so closely to the deadline? Is there some software that they are using? Thanks for answering! 010709 10:15 John R - I don't know WHY someone would give you a "thumbs down" remark, but I find your info Very Helpful and Informative! I felt that there was something different going on that I was not aware of!!! TO THOSE WHO "THUMBED DOWN" AT JOHN: * Please add your comment of why NOT to use the AuctionSniper.com site...or if there is a better solution. * Thumbs down alone does not communicate and is unfair. Thank you.
Ebay sellers fishy business? Hey, I've found many sellers on ebay to be up to something fishy as far as bidding's concerned. They seem to have come up with a software of sort or any other plausible form to self bid on items in order to up the price. I say self-bid b/c there's no way that every time I bid (without a time lapse) it's beaten by the next level bid; just right away a message appears that "you've been outbid". This has happened to me 5 times in a row on a single item (xbox 360). Now the same effect on a suit i'm bidding on; or waiting until the very end to bid. And, i've also left auction bidding idle to see that there are no new bids; meaning that there aren't many in pursuit. Any thoughts?
How do I beat the Ebay snipers? Everything that we bid on recently has been outbid in the final few seconds of the auction. It's clear that they are using software. How do we beat them?
Ebay Tracker Software? A few years ago i used this handy little program which tracked ebay auctions that I was selling, but without being signed into ebay. It made a noise when you got a bid or the auction ended and was a very small and unobtrusive program. Does anyone know what it was called or something similar like it?
What sites can I use for eBay template and layouts with pre-made profiles? I am looking for a website that I can oput my info in such as payment shipping and additional information and have that saved for every auction i create and then just fill in my description, kind of like bigger bids does, that is perfect, i tried auctiva but i dont like it for some reason, please help me, I need something free, or any software anybody knows of that can do this??
What program can schedule automatic mouse clicks? I buy a lot of auctions on Ebay for my work, and I want to schedule clicks (bid and confirm bid) a few seconds before the auctions end (to lower the winning price). So it has to be at a specific time and in a specific place on the screen. What software can do this? Thanks!! I don't want to use automatic sniping tools because they charge for each auction and I have to give them my login and password.
E-bay sniper - Where is the cheapest and best place to download this piece of software.? Silly question maybe, but.... If I use e-bay sniper do I have to leave my PC on during the last day/hour of the auction so it can bid for me? Thanks IHMA. The article was a big help. Yeah, a big help I've gone for a sniper called Prospector. It only took 5 minutes to download and program in my bid. To: 'Haley (I got banned, stupid!!)'... I don't think you understand what e-bay sniping is or why people use e-bay snipers. If you bid too early in the auction other bidders can use a sniper to outbid you in the last 5 seconds of an auction. It's happened to me twice already.
Program to keep track of ebay Purchases? I do alot of buying on ebay, to the point I have 75+ auctions I am watching or bidding on on a given day. Does anyone know of any software out there to help me organize all my purchases? It is very time consuming right now, between paypal, organizing invoices, giving feedback.. any suggestions??

Is this Legal?: Software Company Demanded Receipts & Canceled My Auctions; On Aug. 11 I received the following? email(em) from auction site member representing co. of product I was selling (Omitting names of parties involved, Auction site=?B & Co. that demanded receipts=?A, email=em): ?A is the copyright owner of digital geographic map data and data contained on the Navigation DVD, as indicated by the copyright notice on the DVD. Your auction was flagged b/c of multiple auctions for our product and b/c the pricing of our product is below the retail price, & further information is required to verify this is an authentic product. Purchasing any product from a source other than the manufacturer, authorized vendor or reseller is a risk. The product could be stolen, counterfeit, recalled, unauthorized copy, etc. An authorized vendor would provide you with proper packaging, warranties, manuals for use, & proof of purchase. Please provide the following information: -the name & address of the vendor, along with a copy of the purchase receipt. Your cooperation is sincerely appreciated, & we look forward to your reply. Anti-piracy Team Manager [?A] Corporation email: piracy@[?A].com phone: xxx/xxx-xx63 --- Ignored em b/c wasn't 100% sure if it was legit & also b/c felt it was nobody's business to see those receipts. Never called no. listed nor emailed. --- Exactly 29 hrs later received em from ?B stating: The listing was removed b/c it violated ?B's policy. The rights owner or an agent authorized to act on behalf of the rights owner, ?A, LLC, notified ?B that this listing violates intellectual property rights. When ?B receives a report of this type of violation, we remove the listing to comply with the law. Only copyright owners can copy, distribute, perform, or publicly display their work. ?B doesn't allow sellers to list unauthorized copies of copyrighted works, even if they're unpublished. Unauthorized copies include (but aren't limited to) backup, pirated, duplicated, or bootlegged copies. ... --- I called ?B but they were of no help & said once original owner/copyright holder reports something, they must simply comply with their requests & that I should contact them. I called several no’s for ?A., but person in charge of that dept. was unavailable. I relisted 2 of this item again along w/ long explanation of what occurred. ?B removed them the next day (Aug. 13) & banned me from listing any new items for next 7 days. Next day as well (Aug 13) lady in charge of anti-piracy dept. of ?A called me. I expressed to her my views, she said more illegal copies are sold than legal & that it’s their right to verify if this an authentic product & that if I had simply complied & sent in the receipts, that none of this would’ve happened. She also said how are they supposed to protect their products & customers if they’re not allowed to do this. I emailed receipts & asked her when I would be able to list items again. She said I wouldn't need to, that everything will be taken care of once she contacts the store where I purchased the items from & once she contacts the auction site. Well, it wasn't quite that easy. When she said this, I thought items would’ve been posted back up & running along w/ current bids still intact. Instead 5 hrs & 24 min. later after submitting receipts, I received following em from ?B: We have restored the following listing (list of 9 entries w/ item numbers & title of the listings): It now appears as an ended item. To relist your item, click the "Relist" link in the listing. The listing will restart automatically. If there were any bidders for your item, we emailed them to let them know the listing for (it's same list of the 9 listings) was removed in error. We've also explained how they can find your item again if you relist it. We're sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you. --- Had to contact ?B to have my seller's restriction removed b/c was unable to list the items again b/c they banned me from doing so for 7 days. Listing fees were refunded. Though everything taken care of, damage has been done. Customer's confidence in me has declined / vanished. Less people now viewing, watching & bidding on this item. Just this morning I received following em from a member of ?B who had purchased this item before listings were removed, & of which I had shipped already & it was on its way: I recently recieved the below email from ?B and denied the credit card charge. Since then I have recieved the product & am installing it. If it works I will lift the cancellation. [item number & title of listing] Unfortunately, the item is no longer available for purchase. This is disappointing for everyone, but sometimes it's necessary to protect you as a buyer. [explanation of item not following ?B’s guidelines or of copyright issues.] If the seller is able to fix the problem and relist the item, we hope you'll bid on it again. [encouraging buyer to go to ?B to shop for more items.] --- Legality? Extortion / blackmail?: Show me receipts ---------- or you won't be allowed to sell this! Privacy issues?: Should be nobody's business where I purchased this item. Also, what if things like condoms & such were on receipts? What if I didn't have the receipts? I'm not a business but individual who sells things to help my family & I pay bills. Consumer rights?: Once I purchase product, is it not mine to do as I please? Lies?: Lies from ?A: Email from ?A stated that my product was selling below retail? Well, I started my listings low, but a majority sold @ $2 - $4 higher than a popular online retail store (?C). The lowest it sold was $3 - $6 less than ?C & this was in about 2 instances. In about 2 or 3 cases it even sold $6 - $14 higher than ?C. Lies from ?B: Em from ?B stated "this listing violates intellectual property rights" & that's why it was removed. I never stated I was original owner of data on dvd or that I created the maps. I’m Outraged. Feel bullied, taken advantage of, hurt & betrayed. Anxiously await your responses.

How many Christmas presents are too many? So this is my wife's account and she posted a similar question but didn't give important details or answer questions about those details. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Am4zG4sTj3vqc5KN8iWE9wDsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20120112100822AAr5S3k For religious reasons she doesn't celebrate Christmas or any other holidays. The kids don't celebrate all the holidays and we don't do much on some of the ones we do celebrate. She will not participate at all so I have to handle everything. I'm working full time with a long term back injure so it gets to be a bit much making a big deal or doing much about all the holidays. I have decided to let Christmas be their one big holiday. So back to the original question, how many are too many. We have 2 boys that were 4.5 and 6 years old this Christmas. My wife made a huge ordeal over the number of presents but I would like to qualify what they were and what they cost. She counted christmas morning and there were over 100 presents (somewhere in the neighborhood of 120). Total cost of it all was perhaps 400$ bought bit by bit starting in Sep.. Here are some examples. About 20 very small lego type sets off ebay for about 1$ each. They were maybe 2"x3" plastic bags with no packaging, maybe 30-40 parts ea. and instructions. I scanned the image from the instructions, blew it up and printed it and glued it to a larger box (I was able to get many identical boxes at work for free). In effect it was a poor mans version of buying a real lego set where you get this nice big box with a pretty picture, and inside there is this tiny bag with a small number of parts (it made helped make it look like a lot to the kids though). perhaps 20 wooden thomas the train cars and engines off ebay. they were knockoffs, not real thomas and average price was under 2$ ea. They were individually wrapped. 2 large thomas wooden train style sets (again, cheap knockoffs) for 20$ ea. Many trio block sets (got them at maybe 75% or more off retail). Perhaps 2 12$ sets, 5 8$ sets, 5 5.60$ sets, 4 2.40$ sets and 4 .80$ sets. The trio sets all together was their big present (no game systems, laptops, ride ons, or other big or expensive toys). 2 nerf guns at 16$ ea. 10$ for nerf ammo. 1600 piece Lego's (real Lego's) from walmart for 30$ a lego type block table for 15$ and a laptop type lego table for 12$ a hot wheels garage for 24$ That about covers anything over 10$ or any large groups of toys. They probably got a dozen assorted toys in the 5-10$ range. They probably got a couple of dozen more items in the couple of dollars or less range (puzzles, small packs of stickers, various charms off ebay, ebay knockoff angry birds etc). Fyi some of the things like the angry birds may seem expensive, but they were actually quite cheap. My strategy on ebay was to bid very low on perhaps 10-20 auctions at a time, and at best winning 1 or 2 but at very low prices. I probably bid on hundreds of auctions over months (automatic software snipe bid right at the end) to get the wooden trains, angry birds, lego type sets dirt cheap. The kids were constantly being told, no you can not get that toy, no you can not get a happy meal, no we can not eat at McDonald's etc. for a couple of months before Christmas and were told it was because we were saving for a good christmas. I know its a little overboard, but its the only holiday that much effort is put into. We didn't even celebrate their birthdays till one of their friends had a birthday party, and we still only make a small deal out of it. I keep saying we but I mean me as she doesn't participate in any way. I also invested many hours of my time bargain hunting (checking deal sites, scouring amazon, ebay, and sites like mattel and hasbro direct, not going out shopping) to try and get them the best I could cheap. Is it too much? To me it seems from a dollar perspective, I didn't spend more than many other people (hearing about some getting nintendo ds's and lap tops and such it seems like I spent quite a bit less than say for instance many of the parents at my work). I did invest a lot of my personal time to maximize what I got for the money (leisurly at the computer here and there over months). Statistically the average black friday shopper spent $398.62 on black friday weekend for 2011 and that's about how much I spent in total. Is she right that I am out of control and that is way too excessive? Did I spend way too much money? I should also mention, they typically don't get large or expensive toys through out the year at all. They don't really even get a 10$ toy but maybe a couple of times a year. They do get a few things for birthdays now that we started celebrating them but nothing near like christmas. As far as if we can afford it, we have different ideas about budgeting that don't seem to work well together so we can not afford 400$ for anything (can afford but don't properly budget). We have nothing financed (even the car is paid for), and no credit cards but we do have substantial student load debt (they garnish 15% and take my tax returns). 400$ is a weeks take home pay on a good week. I spread the cost out over several months to minimize the impact.
I would like to start an website with live auction? I'm trying to build an website that you can bid on items in real time. An example of what I am trying to do can be seen at Pennycave.com I would like to have people just hit the "bid" button and then have the price and time change. Pretty much just like that site. I'm going to make some changes because I believe I can improve on some things they've done. If anyone can tell me the software or program i can use to do this is would be much appriciated. Or if you dont know software then maybe a programmer site where they can do it for me thank you :) -Aaron P. what i am trying to do isn't like ebay, its like and online. I believe you have to refresh the page to see if someone else has bid on ebay. Pennycave.com is what i am looking to do. and i dont want to use a site already made, i would like to make it from scratch with my own domain and whatnot. thanks :)
Why wont ebay let me sell Photoshop? So a few weeks ago I won an ebay bid for Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended for Windows, and it had been used once and installed on one computer. and I got it for about £130 because the bidding ended mid-day when I had a day off, so I got a good deal, and its all legit, I never installed it because shortly after I found out about a course that I need £££ for, so I decided to sell it because I need the course more that Photoshop, and I listed it. I listed it for £20 starting bid and let it go for ten days, and have a Buy It Now price of £160, because I have seen second hand versions of PS on ebay on Buy It Now for between £200-£300, but they have been there for about two - three weeks and haven't sold yet, and I need to sell this quick because I need the money for the course, and I don't mind not getting a load of money, only if I get back what I spent and I figured if I sell it for £160, people would buy it and I could get back a little more than what I spent in the first place, which means I can get my money for the course. Anyway, I listed it on Thursday and stated it was second hand and had been installed on one computer, and is complete with all the codes and disks and packaging, and some people had asked questions and I answered them, and the next day, some guy had placed a bid on it meaning the Buy It Now price disappeared and a guy who has messaged me a question said he wanted to Buy it for £160, and I said okay, so I cancelled the auction and cancelled this one guys bid, and I told him to send £169.99 (I asked for £9.99 for insured postage), and he did and I wrapped it up and told him I would get it out to him first thing on Monday. This morning I have received a message on my account from ebay, which said selling it is illegal!!! It said this: "Thank you for your recent listing on eBay. The rights owner or an agent authorized to act on behalf of the rights owner, BSA (Business Software Alliance) (US), notified eBay that this listing breaches intellectual property rights. When eBay receives a report of this type of breach, we remove the listing to comply with the law. Questions about the specific violation should be addressed to BSA (Business Software Alliance) (US) You can send an email to: auction-abuse@bsa.org Why did we remove your listing? Only copyright owners can copy, distribute, perform, or publicly display their work. eBay doesn't allow sellers to list unauthorised copies of copyrighted works, even if they're unpublished. Unauthorised copies include (but aren't limited to) backup, pirated, duplicated, or bootlegged copies."
How exactly does sniping on Ebay work? Say I decide to "snipe" something. I enter in my maximum bid and choose the 5 second cut off. Does that mean that my sniper software will automatically outbid the other person 5 seconds before the auction ends up to the amount of my maximum bid? Or will it automatically start bidding and then keep bidding (if I am out bid) until 5 seconds before the auction ends? Can someone explain exactly how this works? If an item I'm bidding on is currently 10 dollars but I put my bid in at 40 dollars, is the sniping software going to bid 40 dollars 10 seconds before the auction ends, or is it going to continue to bid UP TO 40 dollars before the auction ends?
Question about Installing/Uninstalling Microsoft Office? I am watching a copy of Microsoft Office 2003 on an online auction. The seller claims that the software was installed on three machines (the maximum number of installs allowed), but then was uninstalled when they upgraded to 2007. My question is, even though they uninstalled 2003, does Microsoft still have some sort of record that this software was installed and, therefore, will not allow any more installations even though it has been uninstalled? I obviously don't want to bid on something that isn't going to work, but I also don't want this person to get dinged for auctioning off useless software. I don't think they're doing it dishonestly. Thank you! I hope this makes sense!
Can somone sue me over a not paid item on ebay? I recently bid on an auction, and wanted to try out an ebay sniping program called JBidwatcher. I entered how much I wanted to bid, and selected the right auction, and then in the last 10 seconds it bid for me, and I won the item. Unfortunately, the program bid way more than I had entered! I explained to the seller that the software had glitched or something, and he threatened to sue me! I realize it is an inconvenience, but there is an option to offer the item to the second highest bidder for their maximum bid. I don't know why he isn't willing to do this. Would he have a chance in court over an issue like this?

I am Searching for Clone of: youtube, my space, facebook, eBay, Date.com, megaupload, gmail, Auction, Skype, Classified, Freelancer website, Chat, Messenger (Yahoo, MSN, ICQ). If it already has this tool like VoIP, Video Conference for multiple User, Live Streaming, "Video Survilence over the net" that be great. If not I also need The best program for that. I want the Best Script, cause I am sure there are lot of cheating out there. Also, some may not work properly due to bad script. Please recomend good ones and tell me which one to avoid from. I need the ones that allow me to modify the software to use on my Site. seller has to install it. If use Free lancer, what would be a reasonable price range for developing each. I need also a reasonable price range for developing Bidz.com clone. Should I place request on freelancer bidding. How we can trust any freelancer? What if they develop a script as bad as any unknow script on the internet. Please suggest for any question her
Has anyone tried swooperator.com or swooperator.co.uk? There is a website which claims to be able to help you win on Swoopo, the auction site. A little while ago, it was hinting at software for the price of a few bids which would run against the swoopo site, live...now it is inviting people to a "pre-launch". Has anyone registered for this? It looks intriguing! OK, thanks for all the lovely advice on Swoopo. It's a gambling site, yada yada yada. I don't want to seem ungrateful but that's not what I was asking. I was asking about swooperator. Anyone care to try to answer the question, please?
Do you have any cool EBay tricks to share? I'd specifically like to know if searches can be automated? I'm constantly searching for things on EBay, typing in the same search criteria over and over, on a very hit-or-miss basis. Does anyone know of any software, website, or maybe even a feature built into EBay that will run a large number of keyword-based searches for me periodically and automatically? I want to be notified (email and/or text msg) as soon as any of the many things I've been searching for appears, most especially the harder-to-find, seldom-listed ones. Also, do you know of any other neat tricks for optimizing one's EBay use? I'm exclusively a Buyer right now, but Sellers' (ethical) tricks would be appreciated as well. Right now, the best Buyer's trick I know of is the automatic sniper; I use Snipestreet to place my maximum bids just before the end of the auction. It's free, and has never failed me yet, unless of course I didn't bid high enough. Anyone have any input on Snipestreet, or any other sniping service? If so, could you please include info on fees? Thanks Kim, I had never noticed that feature before. I just tried it, and it looks as if it will be very helpful. I'm assuming it will run the search for you automatically - if so, do you have any idea how often, and can you specify that somewhere? In the meantime, I found a pretty cool site called Auctionsleuth that will run up to 200 searches for you at any frequency you want, even every minute I think, for as long as you keep the search active. They must have some pretty powerful servers. Definitely try using one of the bid snipers - it's great never having to worry about missing the closing of an auction, or staying up late just to bid on something. Plus, it's nice to not let anyone know you're interested in something ahead of time. Just put in the highest price you're willing to pay, and wait for an email telling you if you won or not. If you lose, no problem - it was more than you wanted to pay anyway, and it keeps you from bidding more than you "should" - BTDT :)
I sold an iPod CLONE on eBay, and now she wants a refund? Here's a little history. I have a great eBay feedback score and have had my account for 7 years. I have never had any problems. Of course, I have never sold any clones or anything of that nature. I bought an iPod Touch CLONE for my daughter and decided to sell it on eBay. My ad was extremely clear, it said "this is an iPod CLONE, which means it is not an authentic Apple iPod". I disclosed what came with the item, the software cd, the usb cable, the box and the clone. I ended the auction early because I wasn't getting any bids on it. Then I get an email from a lady who says she saw my auction for the clone, and wants to buy it for her son's birthday. She offered me $35 for it. So she told me to send her a Paypal request, and I did. She paid for it and I sent it. It has now been over a week since she received the item and I get this email from her: Your iPOD touch clone finally arrived but didn't appear NEW IN BOX. The screen protector's gone, no instruction manual or paperwork was included & it looks to have been used or at least tested. This cheap/poor quality MP3 player takes FOREVER to charge & then it doesn't hold a charge. The touch screen doesn't work well (very frustrating & difficult to operate). I've had 5 other people (who own iPod Touches) attempt to operate it & all of them say it doesn't work properly as it frequently locks up & the TOUCH buttons just don't work right. Now we understand why you wanted to sell it!!! Did you buy it off eBay, then realize it has all of these problems? Your ad stated NO RETURNS but you also MISREPRESENTED this item, as it doesn't work properly & it is NOT new in box, SO A RETURN SHOULD BE GRANTED under these circumstances (I will contact eBay/Paypal if needed). Therefore, I'll rtn it to you for a FULL REFUND. What a HUGE disappointment for our son's Bday!!! PLEASE REPLY...THANKS I don't know if I should reply to her or not. I do not allow refunds because I state clearly what I am selling. I never said that there was an instruction manual or screen cover - I think she's expecting it to come with what an authentic iPod comes with. Is there anything she can do to me legally? What could happen to me over this situation? Should I just ignore her? It seems like she thought she was going to get Apple quality at knockoff prices, and when the clone didn't measure up to her "friends" REAL ipods, she now wants a refund. Since we did the transaction separately, she cannot give me negative feedback which is a plus. But she's threatening to contact eBay about this, and I just don't know what my rights are versus hers. Someone please advise. Thanks!

What computer languages should I use to place eBay bids at the last second from my personal computer? VB C++? I want to write a computer program that will bid for me at the last possible second on eBay auctions. This is for my personal use only and will run from my personal computer. I want to do something similar to snipeswipe or hammersnipe. I am weary about downloading software and using these online services because there are real security issues with my personal info, such as my eBay account password, credit cards, spyware, etc. What program languages will I need in order to do the job? Visual Basic C++? Do I need to know a server language like Perl or PHP? I am running Windows XP. Thanks! Is Java the best platform to use?
